KDO History
The WDO started as the World Dance Organisers in 2019. The Inaugural WDO meeting was held on the 30th of May 2019 in Blackpool, England.
The meeting was overwhelmingly supported by the profession and principles of fairness, integrity, freedom, human rights and liberty for all were discussed.
The World Dance Organization (WDO), which was converted into an association on December 8, 2020, has put a lot of effort into working together with dance people, dance associations and organizations around the world to uphold their founding principles. As a result of such efforts, in July 2021, We received a proposal from WDO to establish National Organisation. after about two months of preparation, it joined the Paju branch of the KAEDS(Korea Association Education of Dancesport), which was registered and approved by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and applied for national organisation approval to WDO on September 23, 2021. and on October 5, 2021 , WDO approved us as a WDO National Organization.
After about a month of meeting, on November 17, 2021, the official name of the WDO national organisation was changed and confirmed as the KDO(Korea DanceSport Organisation)
We are adhering to the founding principles of harmony, fairness and freedom, With the highest goal for Korean dancers to freely compete, cooperate, and harmonize with each other, along with fair competition,
We invite all of you over the world who love dance.

August 13, 2021 in the name of KDO (Korea Dance Organisation), the application for membership in the National
Organisation of Korea was submitted.
August 30, 2021 Rejected from WDO membership due to failure to comply with the regulation that only nationally
recognized organisations can join
September 23, 2021 the Korean Association Education of Dance Sports(KAEDS) joined the Paju Branch and submitted an
application to join theWDO National Organisation.
October 05, 2021 Approved by WDO National Organisation
November 06, 2021 Requested to WDO the name of the organisation as KDO (Korea Dance Organisation).
November 07, 2021 Rejected because the name of organization has the same name as a partner in WDO.
November 08, 2021 Requested to WDO the name of the committee as KDO (Korea Dancesport Organisation).
November 17, 2021 WDO approved the use of the official name of the national organisation as KDO (Korea Dancesport
Organisation)
November 18, 2021 KDO (Korea Dancesport Organization) officially launched.
